Canadian Blast concert airs live on Sirius tonight

SIRIUS Canada, the country's leading audio entertainment company, today announced it will once again broadcast 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards®.  - a live showcase event celebrating Canadian music excellence on the occasion of the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards®. The concert will be held at the Official Residence of Canada in Los Angeles, courtesy of David Fransen, Consul General of Canada, on January 28, 2010. Occurring during GRAMMY Week, it will recognize this year’s 13 Canadian GRAMMY nominees as well as the additional 10 Canadians connected to 13 GRAMMY nominations.

What: Hosted by SIRIUS Canada and CBC Radio 3 host Grant Lawrence, the Canadian Blast concert will feature live performances from Canadian artists Hey Rosetta!, K'NAAN, and Dan Mangan and will pay tribute to Canadians nominated for the 2010 GRAMMY Awards®

The following is a list of Canadian nominees for the Sunday's 52nd annual Grammy awards.

  • Neil Young - best solo rock vocal performance, best boxed or special limited edition package
  • Drake - best rap solo performance, best rap song
  • Beast - best short form music video
  • Michael Buble - best traditional pop vocal album
  • Melanie Fiona - best female R&B vocal performance
  • David Foster - best instrumental arrangement accompanying vocalist(s)
  • Nickelback - best hard rock performance
  • Northern Cree - best Native American music album
  • Michael J. Fox - best spoken word album
